Dear Friends, the time has come to talk about artificial intelligence (AI) in our notebooks: why will you tell me? Because AI is revolutionising our world at such a speed that, as soon as you have uttered a concept about it, it is already outdated. Ophthalmology is no exception and the way we practise our profession will also undergo profound changes. There are also ethical implications that cannot be overlooked. I offer you here a fascinating lecture by Dr. Gabor Somfai, a very likeable and well-prepared colleague, who, in an engaging and wide-ranging manner (he is a multifaceted humanist personality with a remarkable cultural background), illustrates some aspects of what our future will be like.
